Launch day is the beginning, not the end
The site went live. Everyone celebrated. And then nothing happened for the next six months. No content updates, no speed checks, no form testing, no plugin updates, no analytics review. The site that was carefully built and carefully launched was carefully abandoned.
The first 30 days matter most
1. Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console. This is how Google discovers your pages exist, don’t assume it happens automatically.
2. Test every form and every phone link. Not once, regularly. Things break silently.
3. Check your speed on mobile. The launch build was fast, but the four uncompressed images added the following week might not be.
4. Set up basic analytics tracking so you actually know who’s visiting and what they do.
The ongoing minimum
Monthly plugin and WordPress updates. Quarterly speed and broken-link checks. Ongoing content that gives people a reason to come back and gives Google a reason to keep ranking you.
A site without maintenance is a depreciating asset
Every month without updates, security patches, and fresh content is a month the site gets slightly worse, slightly slower, slightly less secure, slightly less relevant. It doesn’t crash overnight, it just quietly stops performing.
Want your site actually maintained after launch, not just launched? That’s what our website care plans exist for.
