Service Area Pages Done Right (Not Doorway Pages)

There’s a right way and a spammy way

Businesses covering multiple areas sometimes build a page for every city with the same content, just the city name swapped. Google calls those doorway pages, and they can hurt you more than help.

What actually works instead

Each service area page needs something genuinely specific to that place, not just a find-and-replace on the city name. Mention real streets, real landmarks, specific jobs you’ve done there.

Quality over quantity

Three well-built area pages with real local detail beat fifteen thin, near-identical ones. Google notices the pattern, and so do customers who can tell when a page was clearly copy-pasted.

The test

Read your area page and ask, could this have been written by someone who’s never actually been there? If yes, it needs more real detail.
