The year’s almost over, your site should be ready for next year

Q4 is the perfect time to catch problems before they compound into next year. Let me pop the hood on the quick audit that takes an afternoon and sets you up for January instead of starting the new year behind.

The checklist

Check your speed, on a phone, not a desktop. Test every form and confirm submissions actually arrive. Update your copyright year (small but visible). Refresh your “latest projects” or portfolio if it’s been stale since spring. Confirm your Google Business Profile hours are accurate through the holiday season.

What to look at in your analytics

Which pages got the most traffic this year. Which ones converted. Which ones people bounced off. Those three lists tell you what to double down on, what to fix, and what to consider removing in the new year.

The move:

Block two hours this week, run through this list, and fix the worst three things you find. Starting the new year with a clean, fast, tested site is worth more than any January marketing campaign. That’s it.
