Your Footer Is Doing More Work Than You Think

The last thing they see before they leave

Most business owners treat the footer as a dumping ground for legal links and a copyright year. But visitors who scroll all the way to the bottom of your page are some of your most engaged, they read everything and are looking for one more reason to act.

What belongs there

Your phone number (tappable), your physical address, your service areas, a link to your contact page, and maybe your top three services. Not a wall of links to every page on your site, just the things a ready-to-act visitor needs.

Here’s the thing

The footer is also a trust signal. A footer with a real address, a real phone number, and a consistent brand feel says “this is a real business.” A footer with nothing but “Copyright 2024” and a broken social icon says the opposite.

The quick audit

Scroll to the bottom of your own site right now. Is there anything there that helps a visitor contact you or understand what you do? If not, you’re wasting the most engaged moment of their visit.
